This is to take place in particular within the framework of cross-border cooperation in the three-country region of Lusatia between the Federal Republic of Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. With the complex and the associated museum educational permanent exhibition with archaeological finds and the extensive outdoor area, several topics are addressed. In particular, prehistoric and early historic life up to modern times in Lower Lusatia is presented, Slavic culture is shown and researched in its historical form; moreover, it is maintained in its current form and contributes to its modern democratic development in the 21st century; through the partial focus of the exhibition on opencast mining archaeology, a regional cultural landscape examination with references to climatic developments up to the present day is presented, and Brandenburg’s Lower Lusatia is presented as a historical place of migration between peoples. With all this, the facility is a place of understanding, a place of international encounters, a place of creativity, school and extracurricular learning and experience, with which the company as operator contributes to enlightenment and education as well as to a culturally and socially diverse Europe. The purposes mentioned in section 2.1 are realised in particular through the structural repair and maintenance of the site as a cultural asset, the operation of the permanent exhibition, the establishment of special exhibitions, the creation and publication of information material, the implementation of seminars, workshops and educational events, the implementation of other events of all kinds, the exhibition of art objects and the promotion of digitalisation in the museum activities as well as in the areas of teaching, education and enlightenment. The purposes are pursued as a whole. There is no specific order of precedence between them. In addition, only individual purposes can be funded at the discretion of the shareholders’ meeting.
